At The Start
The beginning or a race or event is marked by anticipation. There is excitement, joy, and maybe even a little trepidation about what is to come. The beginning of a church is no different. I have experienced a full range of both positive and negative emotions throughout this process. Overall though, I’m excited. I can’t wait to see what God does and how He uses Tidal Creek to change lives in Shallotte, Brunswick County, and around the world! I know He is going to do things I can’t even dream about.
The beginning also requires patience. God moves in timing unknown to us and no matter how ready we think we are if God’s not ready then we wait. Waiting is frustrating and difficult. However, waiting is necessary to ensure everything is completely ready. The waiting serves to take the things that are good and make them even better. I wish we were starting weekly worship services tomorrow, but I know that moving in God’s timing instead of mine will make things so much better.
We are simply at the beginning, making preparations so that when God says go we are ready. I am ready to go and I hope you are too!
